WISCONSIN SCHOOL SPEED TEST MONTH
On October 1st, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and EducationSuperHighway will launch an initiative to take an inventory of the state of Internet access in Wisconsin's K-12 schools.
Our objective is to have teachers, librarians, technology coordinators, administrators or students in each of our 2,300 schools take one minute of their time to test their school's Internet access. To get the most accurate picture of our Internet access, each school will ideally conduct fifty tests at different times of the day / week over the course of the month..
The information we gather will be used by DPI to better manage existing Internet access for learning, plan for future increases in access and support our planning for the next-generation assessments to be launched in 2014-15. We will also contribute the data to the National School Broadband Test database to help guide the allocation of $2.5 billion in annual federal funding for school Internet access upgrades.
Taking the Test is as simple as selecting your school and hitting GO. So sign up today to be a digital learning champion for your school. Fill out our form and don't forget to tell your friends and colleagues too!
